In June, Marlene Jensen joined an expedition in Utah with Dr. Ethan Hylan, Dr. Landon Burgener, and Adit Gosh to sample for sedimentary microbes linked to microbial induced carbonate precipitation (MICP). These samples are for an NSF-funded project studying the role of microbes in mineral precipitation.
